Welcome back to Get Real! Today’s shows are Make Me A Supermodel and So You Think You Can Dance!

Up first is Make Me A Supermodel!

It’s down the final four: Mountaha, Sandhurst, Branden, and Jonathan. The models were sent out to do a night photo shoot. The models only had one shot at getting a photo because of the level of special effects with all of fire!! Jonathan was worried about going too crazy because the judges have told him that he sometimes goes too wild. So, he played it a little safe and I don’t think it looked right with all of the fire around him. Brendan went the opposite from Jonathan and decided to scream. However, this wasn’t what the photographer wanted and he warned him of it. Mountaha just stood in one pose and didn’t move at all. But it worked to her advantage because then the fired moved around her and acted more like a prop to her. Sandhurst looked a little goofy with his strange circus-type hat and he went crazy!! He was moving around all crazy but it strangely worked for him.

Sandhurst was the photo challenge winner, but before he found out about his prize, the four models were sent to Bloomingdales to serve as informal models. They put on nice clothes from Bloomie’s and had to walk around the store and try to sell their clothes to the customers. There was no winner here but each model got a $2000 shopping spree, except for Sandhurst who got $4000 for winning the photo shot. After Bloomingdales, the models visited Corey Bautista at New York Model Management. They also received a video message from last season’s winner, Holly.

Then it was time for the runway. The theme was smooth and sleek à la James Bond. The men wore suits inspired by Dior and Mountaha wore a Catherine Malandrino evening gown. Then all the models got a walking lesson from New York Model Management’s David Ralph. The judges loved Jonathan’s runway but weren’t inspired by his photo. The same was said for Branden but they thought it was getting a little late for him to be improved. The judges tore Mountaha apart both in her photo and Catherine told her that her walk was not what she’s looking for. Sandhurst was praised for his photo but didn’t like his runway.

So who went home? Mountaha. I can’t believe that he judges sent her home. The only consolation I have is that she is such a strong model already that there is no way she won’t be signed by an agency. You could tell that the judges felt bad about sending her home. Next week is the finals with the three remaining men.

And now it’s time for the newest set of auditions on So You Think You Can Dance!

The latest audition city is Miami and it’s been 4 years since SYTYCD has been here for auditions. Tyce Diorio was on the panel with Mary and Nigel in the Sunshine State.

Ok, it always makes me nervous when people say they have their “own style” of dancing. That means they have no training whatsoever. And it’s also cringe-worthy when it comes time to watch them dance. It’s also pretty painful. Therefore, I won’t even bother to comment on these people since it’s a complete waste of time! BUT I will say that I love Tyce’s commentary on these contestants! He is so blunt and honest, it’s awesome! Hooray for him!

Priscilla Morrero was the first great dancer and from her pre-dance interview you thought she might be a Latin spitfire but she had a beautiful, quirky, playful modern style of dancing. She definitely knows how to put on a show.

I love, too, how all the dancers that get sent to Vegas have to do their cute “Look at me, I’m a dancer” jumps in front of the microphone. And then they all do the same kind of tiptoe prance towards the judges table to get their ticket. Ha, sillies!

Janette Manrara and Romulo Villaverde were up next. They auditioned last year and Janette made it all the way to the top 40 but just barely missed out on the top 20. This year, they were both sent straight to Vegas!

Day 2 in Miami started off even worse than Day 1. First there was the girl who was barely covering up her boobs with a cut-off and cut-up t-shirt and skimpy bikini top that looked more like she was auditioning for a strip club. Then it was just more bad people after another. It’s always amazing, too, that these people actually think that they’re good!

Thank goodness for the tap wiz kid who came next! He danced to Thriller and threw in a lot of other elements besides tap. And, thankfully, after him followed a bunch of other really good dancers!

Then the auditions headed to Memphis. Lil C, a krumper, was the next guest judge to join Mary and Nigel. SYTYCD was introduced to Memphis Jukin, a style of dance that was based on Elvis’ famous bounce and footwork.

Much the same as the other cities, there were some good dancers and some not so good dancer. Really not so good. Day 2 proved to be more eventful with inspiring stories and amazing dancers. From great lyrical dancers to tappers to classic Gene Kelley-style jazz dancers, Memphis had it all!

The Fate of Jon & Kate

Welcome back to Get Real! Today’s special feature is the season premiere of Jon & Kate Plus 8.

After a Memorial Day Weekend marathon, I felt the need to watch this premiere and see how the Gosselins are doing. However, having got through half of the episode I have decided that I can’t bring myself to write about! The episode was too sad and awkward and I feel a heavy amount of guilt now just thinking about writing about them. I know it may sound weird, but I just can’t do it! Sorry :(

Speedo vs. Skinny Dipping

Welcome back to Get Real! Tonight’s feature presentation is The Bachelorette!

This is when the show starts! Jillian has her men chosen and we actually get to start with the dates! The 20 guys moved into the bunk house down the driveway from Jillian’s huge LA mansion. The guys were told that there would be three dates: two group dates and one group date. Each date would have a rose and those guys who got the three roses would get to move into the mansion with Jillian. But, not everyone would get to go on a date this week. So, whoever didn’t get a date is pretty screwed!

The first group date was: Michael, Sasha, Brian, Tanner P., Brad, Ed, Mathue, and Wes. The date started as a pool party and then it turned into a scavenger hunt! Michael, the only guy in the house, thought he was getting the rose as Jillian took the rose and left the pool area. But unbeknownst to them all, Jillian took off for the guys to find her. The guys were separated into teams of two and only one of the guys on the winning team would get a special date with Jillian. Team Ed and Brian were the first to get their tuxes but Team Wes and Brad were the first to find the second clue in the kitchen. Team Ed and Brian made up for their time lost and met the jeweler to find the necklaces first. Team Sasha and Mathue were next, followed by Team Wes and Brad. Poor Team Tanner P. and Michael were last in all of the challenges – though maybe that’s because they were too busy bromancing in the car. Jillian was waiting for the guys in a vault and where she was going to have dinner with the chosen guy from the winning team.

Team Wes and Brad was the first team to make it to the vault and Jillian was then faced the decision of choosing which guy she would have dinner with. She ended up choosing Wes and I can’t say I’m surprised. Wes and Brad clearly didn’t make a good team and they hated each other. Naturally, Brad was pissed and decided that Wes was clearly not there for Jillian and had ulterior motives. Inside the vault, Jillian was like a giddy schoolgirl with Wes and told him that her girlfriends would totally think she’s his type.

Meanwhile, back at the house, it was revealed that Jake (!) was going on the solo date! Yay!

While Jillian was having a good time with Wes, she was also very reserved and felt the need to protect herself around him because she wasn’t sure if she is his type. I think she’s worried about his music career and that part of his life. But, she still gave him a kiss and the rose for that date, causing the rest of the guys watching on a mini TV to be so shocked and upset. Jumping on Brad’s bandwagon, the rest of the guys began to question Wes’s motives. Blah, blah, jealousy, blah!

Then it was time for Jillian to go on her solo date with Jake! The date had a cute country theme to it. She was wearing Jake’s pilot wings that he gave her on the first night, along with a cute black, fringed tube dress and red cowboy boots. First, she took Jake to a western shop so that his outfit could match hers. They had some cute flirty chemistry going on that was so first date jitters but über cute. They went to a bar afterwards and Jillian danced Coyote-Ugly-style on the bar for Jake followed by some two-stepping. The two shared some serious conversation about the future and it was so cute to see. I really hope that she keeps him around longer ‘cause they are cute together. Then Jillian surprised Jake with a performance from Martina McBride. And of course, Jake walked away with a rose.

Group date #2 went to: Jesse, Mark, David, Mike, Simon, Kiptyn, and Juan. The guys were taken to a basketball court in Venice Beach. It was funny to see the guys get so competitive during the game, especially when she brought out the Harlem Globetrotters. David, especially, was taking the competition too seriously wand was going whatever he could to get attention. He is just getting way too cocky. Jillian’s smartest move was to make the guys take off their shirts. The guys chose David as the best guy for Jillian, but I don’t know what that was based on! Mike went and grabbed a guy’s Speedo and ran into the ocean. Gotta say, it was pretty funny and kinda hot! He may have been pretty cheesy with his “perfect catch” line in the premiere, but he is working his way up to the top three!

The date continued to a poolside reception. Again, David started acting weird and he was complaining about Juan. Though I think David is pretty stupid, I don’t really like Juan either. He seems a little fake and annoying. Jillian pulled Kiptyn to the side next. He revealed that he is normally the one to end things in a relationship which is a baby red flag but I think too early to tell if it’s going to be an issue. And the third rose went to…Mike!

Soon it was time for the pre-rose ceremony reception. Finally, Jillian noticed that Tanner P. has a creepy foot fetish. Then Jillian took Jesse aside, which was nice since he didn’t make much of an impression on the group date. Robby, who didn’t go on a date, made a signature drink for Jillian but before he could really get into a conversation with her, Wes interrupted their time and “joked” about her already cheating on him.

Similar to last season, the guys were told they had to write down the name of the guy they wanted to be sent home that night. Last season, it was turned around and the girl who had the most votes actually got to stay. I doubt that they would actually send home a guy right now. If it weren’t for the fact that Wes already had a rose, I can guarantee that he would have received the most votes. Now, I think it’s going to be a toss-up between Juan and Dave.

Breaking some of the tension, Brian starts taking off his clothes and jumped into the pool naked. Uh, what?! Why did he feel the need for this? Pretty awkward…

Now, time for the votes: the third most vote-getter was Julien, then came Dave (no surprise!) with the next most, and the guy with the most votes was Juan. But Jillian was able to veto the guys’ vote and offer Juan a rose to save him. Not surprising, Jillian gave Juan the rose. I still think Jillian is playing it a little safe and nice, but she will soon see that Juan is nothing special and there are better guys in the house.

So, here are my pre-rose ceremony predictions on who will not get a rose: Julien, Brad, Mark, and Tanner F.

And who did Jillian actually send home? Mathue, Brian, Simon, and Julien. At least I got one right! And boys should all take note: its okay to run around in a Speedo but not naked! Remember, a little fabric can go a long way!

Posing, Patterns, and Pop 'n Lock

Welcome back to Get Real! On tonight’s schedule is Make Me a Supermodel, The Fashion Show, and the anticipated premiere of So You Think You Can Dance!!

First up is Make Me A Supermodel…

Last week on Make Me A Supermodel, judges favorite, Jordan, was sent home because she has been underperforming lately. And Jonathan is on thin ice as he was only in one of six photos during the challenge, and he had his eyes closed in it! Ouch. But Branden was able to find his confidence back and Mountaha finally won a challenge and was this week’s winner!

The photo challenge this week was taking summertime photos in bathing suits in 36 degree weather on the beach in New York. As most fashion followers know, most swimsuit photo shoots happen in the fall and winter because of when designers show their lines. So the models had to bear the cold weather plus deal with holding dead fish carcasses.

Salome had to deal with eels wrapped around her arms while holding fishing net. Interestingly, the photographer loved her butt, which is something that the judges had been criticizing her about from the beginning. Jonathan had to hold two large fish carcasses that were like the size of his legs! Sandhurst, from Trinidad and Tobago, was having a hard time dealing with the cold. He was definitely struggling to get a good photo, and I honestly don’t think he got one. Branden prepared by putting heat packs in his Speedo to deal with the cold. His fish was huge and he needed to lift it on his shoulder. Mountaha had a large eel around her shoulders like a stole. With her metallic swimsuit and the scales of the eel’s skin, she looked like a goddess from the future!

And the photo challenge winner was…Salome…again! She has won this challenge five times total and three times in a row! But, unfortunately for her, Mountaha is going with her and they will be meeting Brazilian bikini and ANTM Cycle 12 final runway show designer, Rosa Chá. And this is obviously beneficial to Mountaha since she is Brazilian. Both booked a job but were told that they couldn’t do swimsuits. Meanwhile, the boys were sent on a shoot for Blu Dot, a modern furniture retailer.

Marlon went through all of the models’ reels with them and gave them some tips and advice for upcoming shoots. This experience was incredibly valuable for the models because most models do not get this one-on-one time with top model managers.

The models then had their runway challenge and were told that the winner would no longer get immunity. The designers this week were The Blondes, and they would each get a goth look and a high glamour look. Branden rocked the goth look and was completely a different model up there. Salome was not confident in goth whereas Mountaha was a goth goddess. Poor Sandhurst looked ridiculous in his blonde wig. Mountaha’s last outfit was very carnivalesque and she looked like a glamorous ballerina.

The judges loved Branden’s runway but were not thrilled with his photo. But they praised his look and said that he would do well in Europe. The judges liked Jonathan’s photo and runway but were not overwhelmed. The judges were not at all impressed with Salome but loved Mountaha. Sandhurst was told that he looked ridiculous and that his body is not going to be desirable by many designers because it’s too muscular.

And this week’s winner was…Jonathan? I totally thought it would go to Mountaha or Branden! They both completely out-performed him. The judges saved Sandhurst and sent Salome packing. She may not be a good runway model but she will definitely do well in print ads.

Now on to The Fashion Show!

The designers were given their newest Harper’s Bazaar challenge. Each team was given an outfit that had numerous sewing problems like a bad hem on a skirt, missing buttons, fixing a lining, etc. It was performed relay style and they were given a time limit of 35 minutes. It was funny how so many of them were panicking. Once again, James-Paul’s team was the winning team and Lidia was pointed out as the best among everyone.

The teams were then told to choose new heads for their teams. This is how it went down: Team James-Paul became Team Lidia; Team Haven became Team Reco, and Team Anna became Team Daniella. The teams were given their elimination challenge, which was to design a coat with a special feature that could work for all four seasons.

Team Daniella had an on-the-go theme, Team Lidia went with a jet-set theme, and Team Reco went with Aeon Flux as their inspiration. I don’t really understand how each of them are going to make something that is special in their coats and some of them have very grand ideas that I don’t think will work at all!

Kelly and Isaac came in to see the designers and it was then that it was revealed that Andrew stole one of Daniella’s designs. However, she kept feeding him ideas and if she was going to complain about this then she should have just not given him any ideas! James-Paul being the architect and innovator that he is planned to make a winter coat that could turn into a sleeping bag. Reco’s team was having major issues and they were consulting him for everything and he unlike Daniella was smart enough to know that he could only help his team so much while still keeping it a competition.

However, now that Reco is the team leader and he completed his outfit on time, he is now getting way too cocky and talking shit about other garments in front of the other designers! Uh, ru-ude!

First up was Team Daniella. Keith’s jacket was summer and was meant for a sunbather, so the jacket zipped off to become a chic tube top and the remaining but of fabric was to be a blanket for the model to lie on as she sunbathed. Andrew’s spring raincoat was a major success as the coat lengthened and a cute hood was pulled out of a hidden zipper pocket. Anna had another hit with her fall coat, which was brown patterned tweed that had amazing structure. The surprise was two hidden pockets in the sleeves that held cute gloves and a scarf that was hidden in the liner and could be detached. I totally want it! Daniella rounded it out with a winter coat that ruffles down the sleeves, which hid an iPod holder, cell phone case, and other compartments. This is great for functionality and for a night out on the town if you wanted to only carry a clutch, which was totally what Daniella was going for.

Team Lidia went next and Angel’s spring coat was the leading look. She was trying to go for something like Andrew’s coat minus the hood to make a traditional British trench, but the length was no wear near enough and it was incredibly underwhelming. Lidia did the summer coat which looked kind of like a weird fish! The color was not good, but I see the functionality of it – the hood was like an umbrella and the lining inside was dry so that you could zip away the outer raincoat fabric and still look fashionably underneath. Merlin’s fall coat had a cut hidden plastic bag in the lining that you could use to put in the heavy hood and other detachable parts to allow for a lighter feel and look. James-Paul’s construction of his winter coat was definitely good, but the idea was a little weird. When your inspiration for the coat is made with a reference to being drunk and needed a place to sleep, this cannot be good! Overall, Merlin’s was the best in this group.

Team Reco went last, leading with Johnny’s spring coat. His coat was supposed to be a shoe organizer. But why would you want to wear shoes on your coat? And what if you wanted to wear your coat but it was hanging up in your closet with shoes in it? Not functional at all! Haven’s summer coat had hidden compartments for a mirror and hairspray which was cute but I wouldn’t want to carry those things around with me while I was walking around town. Markus’s fall coat had a cowl that came off which held jewelry in it. Again, what’s with this storage concept and carrying unnecessary things around with you?! Reco’s winter coat was basically just a cape with a hood that could be buckled in the back to be more structured and unbuckled to drape over the front. Oh, and it could carry a coffee mug in it. Yeah right, no girl would want to risk carrying around a hot coffee mug around in their coat. But it was pretty innovative and fit best with the team’s concept.

Team Lidia was safe, leaving the other two teams left. Team Daniella was the winning team, which was no surprise to me, at all! Also not surprising was the fact that Team Reco was in the losing team. Once again, Anna was one of the best designers. The controversy was the fact that Andrew was the other best look. Daniella spoke up for herself and said that it was her design and she was basically reprimanded for it because that is sometimes the role you need to play as a team leader. Andrew was winner, but once again I would have rather Anna won. Between the two, I would want to own Anna’s coat, and not Andrew’s.

Team Reco was in the bottom once again. Reco was the best of the team and the judges and audience loved it, but because he was in the losing team, he couldn’t win. Markus and Haven were the bottom two designers, and for good reason. Neither had good designs and neither were well constructed. Haven began questioning her ability and the judges tested her. Markus was called out on his poor craftsmanship but he said that he was doing better.

So which of the designers were the judges not buying into? Bye, bye Markus! Haven was left hanging by a thread.

And finally, it’s time for So You Think You Can Dance!

Yay! This is my favorite dance show on TV and it has probably my favorite TV show host, the lovable Cat Deely! Since we are just in the audition stages, these are going to be short little synopses of some of the highlights of the show.

Tabitha and Napoleon are joining Mary and Nigel in Brooklyn for the first set auditions. The first auditionee was Gabi Rojas who was raised in the circus and who suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis but continues to dance regardless of the effect her disease is having on her body. And let me say, she is fantastic! She’s a wonderful mixture of modern and quirky, like mixing Katie and Mark, two of my absolute faves, from last season. Nigel went on to say that it was one of the best auditions he has ever seen and he thinks she should be in the Top 20. He even said he doesn’t want to see anything else for the day! And she got the first scream from Mary! Naturally, she went straight to Vegas.

But don’t think this is going to mean a good start…there are definitely going to be some baddies in there with the goodies.

Up next were the Mutation, who do that horrid bone breaking style of dance that I hated so much on America’s Best Dance Crew. I understand that there are different forms of dance and everything BUT I do not like this kind of dancing at all!! They were moved to the choreography round to see if they can do anything else, but I doubt they will do well. And what do you know? They didn’t even stay for the choreography round!

Peter Sabastino from Philadelphia was another standout dancer who was a mixture of hip-hop and tap! It was so interesting and original that you can’t help but send him straight to Vegas…and that’s just what the judges did.

One interesting thing about this show is that while the judges are surely unwilling to deal with bad dancers, they do love to see people come out who overcome adversity to prove that anyone can do what they set their minds to. Case in point, Tiffany Geigel, who only has 3 vertebrae instead of the normal 7, whereas her arms and legs are the normal length. She was actually a better dancer that you would expect from looking at her. Rather than the judges criticizing her for coming to the show when there is no chance of her ever moving past the audition round, they praised her for her courage and for continuing to follow her passions.

Skipping to the end of the show, Natalie Reid and Brandon Bryant both came back after just barely missing the Top 20 top Katie and Gev, respectively. Both dancers completely killed their auditions, showing why they deserve to be in the Top 20 this year. I would be surprised if either of these two dancers didn’t make it into the Top 20 and even farther than that.

Overall, good show and I’m so excited for this to season! Hooray for summer!

And the Winner Is...Part Deux

Welcome back to Get Real! Tonight is the finale of American Idol. I’m postponing the first blog on Make Me a Supermodel to tomorrow since this will be a long episode!

So, let’s get on with the show! The show opened with a little intro and thanks for all the judges. Uh, why are Kris and Adam clad in all white? It looks a little weird and I am thinking that a really hideous and cringe-worthy duet is coming on.

Oh no, even worse…a group performance from the Top13! Ugh, please make it stop! My eyes are scared and my ears are not enjoying this fake Mickey Mouse Club-variety-show performance. And why are they singing Pink’s “So What?” If this is what’s to be expected from the Idol tour then this is not make me want to jump up a buy a ticket.
The most recent AI alum, David Cook, gave a performance and this was definitely more the vein I saw him going in from the beginning. It was his best single so far and was incredibly heartfelt with everything he has gone through lately with the death of his brother.

Um…the Golden Idol Awards?! Really? What is all this nonsense to fill two hours?? Why not just make it half an hour and announce it already? At least it brought back Normal Gentle for us! Because that could certainly never be a bad thing! Ha, and Ryan wearing those glasses and headband was a little like Little Miss Sunshine.

Alright, this is going to be a blog of complaints. I love me some Queen Latifah, don’t get me wrong, but why are we watching her perform with Lil Rounds? Why isn’t it with either Kris or Adam? Shouldn’t it be about them?? And this performance only solidified for me why Lil didn’t make it father in this competition because she just cannot perform at all! Maybe I wouldn’t mind this whole performance if it was just Queen Latifah and no Lil. In fact, take away the maybe and that statement would be true.

Anoop and Alexis came out to sing Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” and I was pleasantly surprised to have Jason himself come out to perform! But I couldn’t have done without Alexis, Anoop, and the remaining top 13 perform with him during my favorite Jason Mraz song.

Next was the journey of Kris Allen. I didn’t even know who this kid was before the Top 13 since he was hardly ever featured before the Top 36. Unlike the other performances up to this point, I actually enjoyed Kris’s performance with Keith Urban. This actually seems like something you could see on the Grammys, or maybe the Country Music Awards. But for someone who is not a country artist, the song further showed Kris’s versatility and skill as a musician. And can I just say that Nicole Kidman is one lucky woman to be married to Mr. Urban!

Then all the girls flounced around on stage and performed Fergie’s “Glamorous” before introducing the duchess herself where she broke into “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” This performance just made me miss Allison and Alexis even more as they were the only girls in the competition who were could enough to really be credible in the competition. Though, I did like Megan Joy and just felt that she had poor song choices since her voice is so unique and can only sing certain songs. Then, surprise! The other members of the Black Eyed Peas came out and performed their latest single “Boom Boom Pow.” I love that this group sounds so much the same live as they do on the radio. They really know how to perform and are an incredibly talented group. Love them!

Now, another Golden Idol Award and really?! This was just another excuse for Bikini Girl to come out and flaunt her new boobs, spray tan, and dyed hair. Ryan actually made a funny and relevant joke, too, at her expense! And, oh no… they are going to let her sing again?! No no no! This is like a bad karaoke night until Kara came out and sang the same song that the two fought over to show off her own singing chops and that she actually knows what she’s talking about as a judge. AND she revealed her own bikini body! Who knew Kara was so hot and such a good singer?! Good for her!

So, we’re into the second hour and no results! But, we were graced with a performance from Allison and Cindi Lauper! And man, do I wish Allison could have sang “Time After Time” on the show ‘cause she killed it! This performance was amazing. Here’s to hoping that Allison was get signed somewhere after this show because she could definitely sell some records.

Up next to perform was Danny Gokey and music icon Lionel Richie. At least we don’t need to deal with the smug smile of satisfaction that Danny gave while waiting for the judges’ comments after each performance while on the show. Surprisingly, Lionel’s and Danny’s voices blended better than I thought they would. And we got to see Paula dancing which was something I feel was missing for a few weeks. Oh, Paula! And thought I am not the biggest Gokey fan, you can’t help but want to dance and sing along to “All Night Long!”

Adam’s journey was next. He was a front runner from the very beginning. Though from the first time he appeared on the show and mentioned being in Wicked, I haven’t been able to shake his theatricalness. And speaking of, what is up with his costume?! It’s like a mix of a new age David Bowie from The Labyrinth. Or maybe that’s just me wanting to make a David Bowie reference and express my love for him! Or maybe it was in reference to KISS!! I cannot believe that they got KISS to perform on American Idol! And Adam killed it for sure. But this only makes me feel more and more that Adam needs to be front a band and not be a solo artist! This is perfect for him and he is so natural in this type of setting. Part of me wishes Adam was older and could have auditioned for RockStar INXS instead.

Eeek! I don’t know if it showed for everyone but I just saw a trailer for the new Harry Potter movie! It looks soooo good and I can’t wait!

Carlos Santana was the next musician to take the stage and man, he is just so good. And to make it even better, Matt Giraud got his little solo in there before the rest of the Top 13 joined him onstage for a group performance of “Smooth.”

Oh no, just as I was getting used to the group performances, it was time for the last Ford music video. Ugh! Thank goodness these are done and we don’t need to go through these anymore.

What a joy! Steve Martin performing with Megan Joy Corkrey (oh, and Michael Sarver, eh…). Megan looked beautiful and this song was perfect for her voice! This is the type of music she is meant to sing.

Why, oh, why, are we subjected to a performance of “Do You Think I’m Sexy?” Okay, I get that it’s meant to be a set-up for Rod Stewart but it was a little painful. What wasn’t painful was Rod singing his classic “Maggie May.”

Oh man, the last Golden Idol for best Outstanding Female. Now you know it’s going to be Tatiana Del Toro. I am cringing at the thought of hearing her laugh and sing again. Ugh, and there it is. Why must Fox insist on giving these people more attention?! And, were they really running low on time? Because if so, then maybe that’s a hint that you shouldn’t give out stupid awards like this and WASTE time!!

Lastly, before the final results, we get a duet between the final two, Adam and Kris. And what do they sing? Queen’s “We are the Champions!” Aww, how appropriate, however biased towards Adam it is.

FINALLY, the results! And the winner is…HOLY SMOKES! It’s KRIS ALLEN!! Well, perhaps America thought the same as I did. I almost feel a little bad for Kris because there is so much shock around him winning that the results and reactions were a little underwhelming compared to past seasons. I’m happy Kris won and I think that Adam will be just fine.

Congratulations Kris Allen on being crowned the next American Idol.

And the Winner Is...

Welcome back to Get Real! It's a week of finales and tonight is no exception. First up, the final performances of American Idol.Has anyone else noticed that when Ryan Seacrest opens the show he says “This is American Idol” the same way every single week?! No variety, never! It’s always “This is American Idol”. Always! Ugh, he’s so annoying! Good thing we have the judges to take our minds away from him.

PS. Is anyone else excited for the special premiere of Glee?! I so am!

And the battle begins between the so-called “Rock God” Adam Lambert and the guy-next-door Kris Allen. The two are so opposite in their sounds it’s hard to predict who America will vote for. On the one hand, there’s Adam Lambert who is definitely a rock diva and could sell out concerts. And then you have Kris who is the new pop-folk artist who can do wonders with his acoustic guitar.

Ever wonder what Adam was like as a child? Well, Fox decided to tell you. How nice. Apparently he was a screamer and was a noisy kid. His first performance? Perhaps his least noisy performance to date: “Mad World”. Complete with a fog machine and long black trench, Adam made his way to center stage in a very “On My Own” from Les Misèrables kind of way. But beyond that, why are the top two singing songs we’ve already heard?! I already heard you sing this before, why do I want to hear it again? But since I am almost always wrong with Adam, the judges were ga-ga for his song choice. However, thankfully, Simon is on my side about the theatricalness of it.

Did anyone catch a glimpse of Paula? Well, how could you miss her oompa-loompa tan! But she was surprisingly less made up and she looked quite beautiful and normal tonight. Now she just needs to lose the tan and we will finally have a normal Paula back!

So, Kris’s childhood? He hated to sing for his family and made them pay him to perform for them. Now, he gives it out for free for America. Kris decided to go with “Ain’t No Sunshine” for his own choice. The song surprisingly fits his voice well and him sitting behind a piano gives a good preview of what his concerts will be like. I mean, if John Mayer can sell out crowds, then Kris definitely can cause he’s just as talented and cuter, in my opinion. I am surprised though that he didn’t choose “Falling Slowly” since that was one of his best performances of the season and the judges felt that was a turning point for him. And isn’t his wife just the cutest?!

Surprise #1 of the night – Simon declares Kris the winner of Round 1. And this leads to why I think Adam shouldn’t win. Kris could easily win and be successful as a solo artist. Adam, however, cannot achieve this, in my opinion. Adam needs to benefit from American Idol the same way that Chris Daughtry did – take it for what it is, be eliminated, then form a band and become popular (to some people!). Adam is clearly meant to be the front-man of a rock band. He has the voice and the image for it. And I can’t see anyone making a solo rock album and it being popular. But if he had a band with him then I think he would do much better. I feel that Adam is also someone who will be better to watch live than to listen to on the radio in your car. Who’s single would I want to buy? Kris’s single and Adam’s band’s single. Who would I want to listen to on my iPod? Kris and not Adam’s screeching. And I am by no means averse to rock music so this is not a rock-hater making these comments. But, as mentioned before, since I am almost always wrong about Adam, he will probably win and be super successful on his own. Ugh.

Creator Simon Fuller chose “Change Is Gonna Come” for Adam to sing as his second performance. We got back the good old wailing Adam. His range and performance ability is impeccable and impressive. I just wish I was listening to Matt Giraud’s falsetto instead of Adam’s. It was a good performance but I don’t think it was his best. Ugh, and Kara and Paula said it was his best! Seriously?! Can I be that wrong?! I fully admit that there was nothing wrong vocally with his performance and he performed it well, too, but his best?!

Kris came out with his guitar and sang “What’s Going On” and channeled his inner Jason Mraz. The touch of the band around him with other guitars and bongos was a nice touch. He sang the song very well, though I don’t think it was his best performance. It was a little “college guy with a guitar in a coffee house” and I think Simon and Randy agreed. This makes me a little sad as I now really want Kris to win.

Round 2 clearly went to Adam and now it’s tied up. So, whomever does better in Round 3 will come away as the victor. And what is in store for Round 3? Both Adam and Kris are set to sing the same song which will be packaged and produced as the first single for the winner. And newest judge Kara Dio Guardi co-wrote the song. Hmm, I wonder if that means there is any sort of favoritism towards either on the contests in terms of the arrangement.

The song is called “No Boundaries” and Adam was up first to debut it. From his look, I could tell that he would add some sort of rock edge to it. And, what is this? I feel like this is the first time Adam has been nervous! He seems a little unsure of his performance. Probably because this song really means more than any other one because this song will be his song and his single so if he bombs then there goes his single! Or he will just have a really crappy first single. The song is actually very fitting for the finale, albeit a little cliché in some of the lyrics. Randy was not a huge fan and neither Kara, Paula, nor Simon actually commented on his performance but just said that he was great and that he will do great things. Basically, they just wanted to leave him on a good note.

I looked forward to hearing Kris sing the same song to determine which of the two I felt did better. Ok, this may be a little unfair because I feel like the arrangement of the song is better suited to Kris’s voice and style of music so he was given a little bit of an edge on this. I do wish that he could have used his guitar or piano because it could have been very powerful. Randy thought that Kris’s voice was better suited to the song and Kara shamefully admitted that the song was too high for him. I feel bad that this was his last performance because the key was not the best for him.

Overall, I don’t know if I can say who will win based on their performances tonight. Neither Adam nor Kris blew me away with the last performance but I think that whichever one wins should tweak the arrangement a bit to better suit their own styles and voices.

Predictions: I think Adam will win even though I want Kris to win.

Now, onto the Dancing With The Stars finale and the announcement of the winner of the coveted mirror ball trophy!

Madam of the House of Ga Ga, miss Lady Ga Ga herself sang her hit single poker face. I love this girl. She is crazy and insane and has some super euphemistic lyrics to her songs but she knows how to perform! And she sounds the same live as she does on the radio which always gets kudos from me.

Filling up the majority of the two hours (really, ABC?!) was the “best” performance from all of the eliminated celebrities. First was Belinda Carlisle with the Samba, followed by Denise Richards doing the Quick Step, and then Holly Madison doing the Samba.

WAIT, halt! Did Tom just say that Samantha Harris is going to be Roxy Hart in Chicago on Broadway?! So, all I need to do to get on Broadway is to be a really bad backstage correspondent on DWTS!? Where do I sign-up??

Aww, the Woz returned to dance the Quick Step. This was no waste of time cause he’s just too cute! Then came the newly bald David Alan Grier with the Viennese Waltz. And then, Steve-O with the Fox Trot. I was surprised to see how well he handled this whole experience and that he seems to have matured some from his Jackass days.

Then they revealed the newest pro for next season. Blah, blah, on with the show!

Lawrence Taylor took to the dance floor next with the jive. The after dance interview was incredibly awkward and I’m glad I didn’t hear everything that was said. Country cutie Chuck Wicks then flared and wriggled the Samba with girlfriend and partner Julianne Hough.

Season 7 first-eliminated celebrity Jeffrey Ross came out to roast the top three dancers, judges, and hosts. I do love roasts and this was funny but also awkward and I wasn’t always sure when to laugh. It was cute though to see how protective the pros were over their celebrities when they got roasted.

Then fan-fave Lil’ Kim performed her exciting and riveting Jailhouse Rock dance. It’s sad to think that if she hadn’t been eliminated when she was, she could actually be in the finals. Ty and Chelsie reprised their Lindy Hop which was the first time that Ty really proved himself to be a ‘dancer.’

Shawn was first to dance the “final dance” and graced us again with their Cha Cha. Last time Shawn received a 28/30 and she is hoping to get another perfect 30. Her personality was definitely showing through more here than the first time and she seems more comfortable with the dance and with Mark than ever before. Fingers crossed for her finals score! And it is…PERFECT 30!! Hooray!

Melissa came out for her slinky Samba again. It’s cute to see how excited she is to be in the finals and how shocked she is to see how America has rallied her after her disastrous end on The Bachelor. And I love, love, LOVE that her parents have been in the audience every week to watch her even though they wouldn’t appear on The Bachelor. And it’s wonderful to see Tony so excited as well because he has not had the best luck with partners since Stacey in Season 2. Naturally, she once again received a perfect 30!

Last, but not least, was Gilles and his first perfect scoring dance, the Argentine Tango. It was definitely just as sexy and passionate as ever. He was smart to choose once his Latin dances as this is where he excels in the ballroom. The judges all praised him and basically named him the winner right there. Gilles was becoming so emotional and it was clear that he was invested in this competition not just for the “fame” and the trophy. He seemed to have a personal investment in it. Along with Shawn and Melissa, Gilles got a perfect 30!

Lady Ga Ga was back on stage to perform her newest single “Lovegame.” I remember first seeing her perform at Miss Universe last year and thinking that she would never make it or be popular in America. And I must say that I am glad that I was wrong because she is such a character and performer.

And landing in Third Place is…Melissa & Tony. I didn’t think Melissa would win but I’m glad she made it as far as she did. So, as expected, the race was down the Shawn and Gilles.

And the winner is…SHAWN & MARK!!! Yay! And just less than %1 between Shawn and Gilles, wow! I almost feel a little bad that Gilles didn’t win because you know he wanted it so bad but I loved Shawn & Mark so I’m so happy they won! Eek :)

Dancing and Dating

Welcome back to Get Real! Tonight's was a full circle of bachelorette-dom with the performance finale of Dancing with the Stars and the premiere of The Bachelorette. First up, DWTS!

It’s the first part of the finale and, gosh, am I excited! Can I just say, though, that it seems as if Cheryl already feels like she and Gilles have won? She is getting more and more smug as the seasons wear on. And she always seems as if she is looking down at Shawn and Melissa when the couples are lined up at the beginning of the show.

Bruno went to visit Shawn & Mark for a little coaching in their solo session. Her most recent attempt at the Paso earned her a score of 29/30 so she really needs to do well to top that! Then, Carrie Ann went to see Melissa & Tony, who only scored a 25/30 during their last Paso. Last, Len coached Gilled & Cheryl to reach that perfect score after receiving a 29/30 on their first try.

The couples came out to dance their Paso Dobles with a fiery opening. Shawn & Mark were first in their solos and she looked great! It was very fierce, passionate, and appropriate for her age. Melissa was next on the floor and it was like a vampire Paso! She looked hot and kinda dominatrix-esque. I bet Jason’s kicking himself right now seeing her do so well and look so good! However, it seemed a little too soft for me and not hard enough. I was surprised to see Gilles & Cheryl in white cause I fully expeted them to be in red or black. He did very good in his Paso and definitely carried the male dominance of the dance. In the final but where all three couples were dancing together, Shawn was hitting her movements with such edge and hardness where Melissa still seemed a little too soft.

The judges seemed to love all of the performances but tended to claim Melissa as the weakest and Gilles as the strongest. I do think it’s unfair for Carrie Ann to say that Shawn doesn’t have the same emotional connections as Gilles because she’s only 17 years old and if she was acting too much like Gilles it would be highly inappropriate!

And I think she’s showing just enough passion and sexiness for her age. Perhaps I am just showing my favoritism for Shawn here too much, but I do think it’s unfair.

Up next were the anticipated freestyles! Shawn & Mark were first to go and they got a visit from Season 4 Winner and Olympic Gold Medalist Apollo Anton Ohno!! Yay, love him! I’m glad that they are holding back on all of the gymnastics since the judges were not too enthusiastic about it last time. Ooh, and so excited to see them sporting some Jabbawockeez masks, albeit bedazzled! It was like a fun broadway inspired dance that was incredible athletic and definitely showed off what Shawn has learned this season. You can’t help but love their dance! It was so nice to see how excited Mark was, too. You could tell that he wanted them to succeed so badly and was just as nervous and excited about the comments as Shawn was! This was definitely one of the best freestyles ever! And their score...PERFECT 30 OUT OF 30!!

Melissa & Tony took the dance floor next and I gotta say I had no idea what to expect out of these two. Melissa’s always proven to be a good dancer from the beginning, but she was hailed for her ballet and cheerleading skills rather than ballroom technique. So, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be too cheery or if they were going to try for more ballroom. They went for a hip hop themed dance and I approve since that seems more like Melissa’s style but I was not digging Tony’s uber tight see-through shirt. He should have just been shirtless in my opinion! There were certainly a lot of tricks here but it seems a little scattered and maybe Tony was making up for how safe his last freestyle was with Stacey in Season 2. All the judges wished that she had gone more elegant because of her ballet training, which is a little odd because of all the times they have criticized her for it in the past, but I see what they were going for. The judges rewarded her with 27 out of 30.

Gilles & Cheryl finished off the night with their freestyle. I am not liking his outfit at all. Why is he wearing jeans with a ripped sparkly black t-shirt? It’s a little gross and “sleazy guy at the club!” Although, from the music, I can see that it was meant to be a little 80’s-esque, so it’s a bit better. It was overall good, but it seemed to be more about Cheryl than Gilles. Often times, he wasn’t doing much dancing, but just lifting, holding or caressing Cheryl as she danced around him and slid on him all sexily. Surprisingly, Carrie Ann and Bruno agreed with me about there not being enough dancing from Gilles! Hooray! Ultimately, he ended up with a 28 out of 30.

So, the final scoreboard going into the results show:

Shawn & Mark – 58 out of 60
Gilles & Cheryl – 58 out of 60

Melissa & Tony – 56 out of 60

My predictions? I think Gilles will win even though I want Shawn to win. I guess we will have to wait for the last dance tomorrow for judges scores to see if anything might change that.

Now onto The Bachelorette premiere!

Yay!! SO excited that The Bachelorette is starting and that Jillian is it! She’s just so darn cute and down to earth, you just want her to do well and find the perfect man. Here’s to Jillian and her search for “Mr. Invisible!”

So, who are these guys who think they’re worthy of Jillian’s love? Well, considering that some of them will soon drift off into oblivion, here are my Top Guys and Bottom Guys pre-rose ceremony...

Top Guys:

1. Jake, the pilot from Texas – He is CUTE! And he called himself a “Hopeful romantic!” Aww!
2. Kiptyn, the event planner from San Diego - Ok, yes, he is hot but he also seems really nice and genuine.
3. Sasha from Texas – He’s very cute and definitely interested in family. And I like how he equated the awkwardness of meeting the guys like your first high school dance!

Bottom Guys:

1. Julien from Rancho Santa Fe – Super stiff, arrogant, and sleazy!
2. Greg the fitness model – Gross!! No, no, no!
3. Brian from Atlanta – Hot tub Harris?! Clearly he just thinks she’s hot!
4. Tanner P, one of the new guys – His disgusting foot fetish…nothing more to say!

I love that all the guys are thanking Jason for ditching Jillian so that they could have a chance with her. But what’s more amazing is that they even watched the show or know enough about her to want to pursue her and come on the show! It’s so fun, too, to see the guys being all gossipy and talking about their nerves when meeting a new girl and how cute she is and how her white dress is intimidating! Ha, love it!

Upon her entry into the mansion to meet all the hot single men, Jillian advised the men to “Please be yourself.” And I gotta say, this is probably the most important advice Jillian could give to the guys! With all of the fancy-schmancy dates that are incredibly unrealistic out in the real dating world plus the fast-paced environment, the only way any guy could truly hope to end up with Jillian is if they were themselves the whole way through. Otherwise, we will just end up with another failed Reality TV romance and most likely, another bachelor for next season!

Jake the pilot stepped up to the plate and pulled Jillian aside first. Good job for him cause he’s my number one so far! Jesse took the reins next and broke Jake and Jillian’s moment. Did he really just call wine “Love Juice?” Really? And then he made a shirt that said “Aspiring Canadian?” Puh-lease! Next!

Tanner in the bright green shirt pulled her over to the pull and openly admitted that he watched last season. Though it’s good that he is there for her, I would definitely have to think twice about a single guy who willingly watched The Bachelorette.

Jillian pulled her first guy aside and it was Kiptyn from San Diego! He seemed so real and sincere. I greatly hope that he is ‘cause he is a definite front-runner! Plus, it’s also nice to see that San Diego does have some good guys!

Juan then took Jillian inside and talked to her about his family and profession. He seems really cute and although he seems a little nervous and trying a bit too hard to impress her, you can tell that he is excited to meet her.

Kyle then drew a mustache on Jillian’s finger and it sort of made me like him more! Just when I had written him off, he pulled out the finger mustache! I suppose only my friends will know how funny that is! And Brian, the jerk from Atlanta, was left in the dust! Ha!

And just as expected, Wes pulled out his guitar and sang a song to her! Whoop-di-do, big surprise there! Boring!

Michael then proceeded to give Jillian a break dancing lesson and I gotta say that I liked him more! He was very cute with Jillian and I was glad that he seemed toned down even while doing his whole break-dancing bit. And Jillian seemed to enjoy it, so that’s always good. Plus, he took the opportunity to battle and completely beat down Greg the gross fitness model, who was my least favorite out of all the guys. Hooray!

David opened up after his awkward and stiff first impression and it was nice to see that he could work past his nerves.

Then, the major bombshell…Jillian was so popular as the next choice for the bachelorette that 5 more guys were brought into the picture! For the first time ever, there will be 30 bachelors instead of 25! Dun-dun-dun!

Then she met with Ed and Tanner P, two of the new guys. Ed seemed really nice but not super memorable. Tanner P was a first-class creeper with his gross foot fetish! I can understand if someone wants feet to look nice because they can be gross but he was just weird about it! His whole conversation with her was just him trying to see her feet! There was nothing real about it at all. And I cringe at the thought of any future dates her may have with her by trying to give her foot massages, pedicures, etc. Ugh!

And the first impression rose goes to…David! I admit, I was surprised because I thought there were many others who were better deserving of it. However, I can see that why she chose him since he made a point of making a second first-impression. But I feel like Jillian was trying to be nice and dear Jillian, this is not the time to be nice! Go for what you want because that’s what’s going to matter in the end!

So, what happens during the rose ceremony?

First to be called for a rose is…Jake the pilot!! Whoo hoo! Wes was to be expected, but I predict he will get old fast with his whole musician thing. My other favorites, Kiptyn and Sasha, each got their roses while some of my non-faves, such as Tanner P, Julien, and Brian B, were given roses as well. I guess though when you have to keep 20 guys, you have to end up with some of the bad guys. Let’s just home that they start leaving ASAP so the good guys can continue to stay!

At least Greg the fitness model was sent home. And it was weird to hear John P saying that he already thought that Jillian was his soul mate…uh, you just met her!

Overall, a good premiere and definitely some good guys for our girl Jillian! Here’s to a good (hopefully!) season, although it looks like it will be pretty rocky from the previews of upcoming episodes! :/

Word to the Wise...

Welcome back to Get Real! As we near summer and Reality TV heaven, here is a list of shows that I may write about and a list that I definitely will not write about.

Get Ready for:

• The Bachelorette with Jillian Harris (ABC), premieres Monday, May 17 - here's hoping that our favorite Canadian sweethear can find true love and ward off any potential Jason Mesnicks!
• So You Think You Can Dance (Fox), premieres Thursday, May 21 - thanks to my parents for introducing me to this show in season 2!
• Top Chef Masters (Bravo), premieres June 17 - I'll give it a try to see if it's any good, but seeing as I'm not a major foodie myself, I might care less for the real top chef contestants.
• Big Brother 11 (CBS), premiere TBA - I know not many people are BB fans, but this is my major guilty pleasure so you'll just have to deal with it :)

Don't Hold Your Breath for:

• The Real Housewives of New Jersey (Bravo) - come on, people, it's New Jersey! :/
• Charm School III (Vh1)- though it could be interesting to see Ricki Lake try and whip these girls into shape, I don't think any of them will really walk away with any more class than they started with (which to be honest, was basically none).
• America's Got Talent - maybe if I lived in England I would blog about Britain's Got Talent cause they are way into their reality shows across the pond, but I have no desire to hear from Piers, Sharon, David or new host, Nick Cannon. Sorry Mr. Mariah Carey.
• Hitched or Ditched (CW) - this show seems so horrible! Give stuggling couples a week to plan a wedding and at the end they either get married or the whole thing's off. Uh, no thanks!
• I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! (NBC) - I don't think I need to give an explanation here...
• NYC Prep (Bravo) - the last thing we need is a real life GossipGirl to breed fake celebrities like the Lauren Conrads, Heidi Montags, and Kim Kardashians out there.
• Daisy of Love (Vh1) - I was never a fan of Daisy when she was on Rock of Love so I have desire to watch her on her own quest to find "love".

So, as you can see, the list of things to come is much shorter than those not to come. And for any other new shows that decide to show up, here are my basic rules of whether or not it is worthy of Get Real:

1. If it's not a competition show, you can basically rule it out! Though I do love me some mini-marathons of Ghost Hunters, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Say Yes to the Dress, What Not to Wear and others, it's basically just the same thing over and over again.
2. If it's a competition show on MTV that's not America's Best Dance Crew, chances are it's not worth my time.
3. If it in any way involves Heidi Montag or Spencer Pratt, I will not review it. Unless they are on DWTS, in which case I will pretend they don't exist and skip them completely.

Fashion Quitters and Winners

Welcome back to Bravo's copycat, The Fashion Show.

Now that we're into the second episode, I'm able to see past the ProRun similarities and actually enjoy it for what it is!

I was horribly disappointed to discover within the first 5 minutes of the show that my first episode favorite, the cute and lovable Kristin, decided to leave the competition. Although, if she was even considering leaving after being in the bottom two one time, then it's probably better she left since she most likely wouldn't have been able to handle the pressure.

The designers met with judges/hosts/mentors Isaac Mizrahi and Kelly Rowland again and it was revealed that they would need to work in the same teams as last week. However, since Kristin left, Team Tube Dress was left with only 3 designers whereas Teams Harem Pants and Bolero each had five members. So, as winner of the last elimination challenge, James-Paul sent Daniella, the black sheep of the group, over to Team Tube Dress.

Laura Brown from Harper's Bazaar introduced the Mini-Challenge to the designers. Each team was given two dress forms and a tin case filled with two completed outfits: one full ensemble of designer clothes and one with bargain prices. The team to fully complete the two outfits in the shortest amount of time would win the challenge and receive a leg-up in the elimination challenge. The underdogs, Team Bolero, got their two outfits completed on the first try in just under 3:30 minutes.

Then came the elimination challenge: design four unique looks to fit New York socialite and designer Tinsley Mortimer's busy itinerary. The looks needed to be cohesive with one another and needed to fit the following events: a ladies luncheon, an art gallery opening, a charity event, and a rock concert. Since Team Bolero won the Mini-Challenge, they were given a total budget of $50/outfit whereas the other two teams only had $40/outfit. Each team had the option to choose a a new team leader. Team Bolero went with last week's winner James-Paul, Team Tube Dress chose Anna, and Team Harem Pants went with 80's lover Haven.

Team Bolero's look was inspired by James-Paul's interest in architecture and rectangles. He used the idea of a Stealth Fighter as the main inspiration for the collection. Team Harem Pants went with Haven's own personal aesthetic of Linda Evans/Dynasty 80's-ness. And Team Tube Dress followed Anna's concept of architure and elegance.

On the final runway, Team Bolero impressed but didn't stand out, Team Harem Pants looked like a hot mess, and not in a good way, and Team Tube Dress wowed with a look of overall sophistication and class. Naturally, Team Tube Dress were the winners and the judges called out the two best looks: Anna's ladies luncheon outfit and Daniella's rock concert jumpsuit.

Anna's look screamed Manhattan high-class with a hit of sexiness. She told the judges that because they couldn't use expensive fabrics to do the budget constraints, then her main priority was to make the fabrication look expensive and pay close attention to detail. This definitely showed through in the amazing pleating down the front and back of the skirt. I would be extremely happy if I could find a skirt that hot for $40! In fact, I would love this whole look!

Daniella's rock concert look included a jumpsuit with hot paints and a bustier in sultry charcoals and navys. Topping it all off was a sexy sheer biker jacket with the delicate accent of a box at the collar. This is definitely the vision of the new rock 'n roll girlfiend who wants to show those trashy groupies that subtlety and sophistication win out in the end.

Though my personal vote would have gone to Anna, the judges chose Daniella as this week's winner.

Facing eliminatin this week was the dreadful Team Harem Pants. The judges called out the looks of Laura, Markus, and Johnny. Laura's rock concert inspired ensemble was trashed by judges when Fern Mallis said the dress was something you would see backstage after everyone had left, most likely to be found under the table. Markus was criticized for his poor sewing skills but his enthusiasm for the challenge seemed to hit a soft note with the judges and Tinsley herself. Lastly, Johnny, my least favorite contestant, had the gall to send his model down the runway with safety pins holding the top and skirt together. His excuse? He didn't think this was going to be American's Next Best Seamstress! Meow!

When the judges and left to deliberate, Isaac claimed that someone needed to hold him back cause he was so furious with Johnny. Ultimately, the judges decided that Markus was safe, Johnny was hanging by a thread and was told to check his attitude, and they just weren't buying Laura's poor excuse for a dress.
