Masters & The Dance Floor

Welcome back to Get Real! Before we get to the first performance show of So You Think You Can Dance, it’s time to see if Top Chef Masters can bring the heat.

I suppose that this show will be interesting, but like my roommate and I were saying, the great thing about Top Chef is that you kind of want someone to fail. But when it comes to masters, I really don’t want anyone to fail. Because if you’re good enough to be considered a master, you shouldn’t fail. And I don’t want some of the best cooks around to fail and then change my opinion about how I think about professional chefs! But, perhaps I am thinking too much into this and I don’t really have anything to worry about. Be warned – this may be the first and last time I review this show if it isn’t spicy enough (and yes, I do mean to keep making these little puns!).

The first four chefs were Michael Schlow from Boston, Hubert Keller from San Francisco, Chris Lee from New York, and Tim Love from Fort Worth. Only one of the four would move-on after each episode to the Champion’s Round.

Each quick fire challenge would be based on a quick fire from Top Chef. So what did these chefs get? The dreaded dessert challenge! And they needed to impress a group of four girl scouts! The chefs would get to see the girls’ reactions but the girls wouldn’t know that they were being watched. Hubert won the quick fire with his chocolate swan and mouse dish (super cute!).

The elimination challenge was to cook a three course meal using only a toaster oven, microwave, and a hot plate. Sounds like a ResHall Study Break to me! The judges had $150 to shop for food which was hard for some since they just get things in bulk for their restaurants. Tim made a rookie mistake by putting his food in the freezer instead of the fridge. Whoops!

And yet another challenge for the masters, the chefs had to cook in a dorm room! And their critics would be some college students from Pomona College. Some of the chefs got creative with their spaces and used the shower and sinks of the bathrooms.

Based on the comments, I feel that Hubert will win the challenge. His food looked really good, especially for being cooked in a dorm room! Each of the chefs received some good and bad criticism on their dishes.

So who would make it to the Champions round and a $10,000 check for their charity? With a total of 20.5 stars, Hubert Keller moves forward! Whoo hoo, perhaps I am more of a foodie than I thought since I called this win! And perhaps this show is not so bad. I’m pretty sure that I’ll watch next week’s show.

And now it’s finally time for the Top 20 on So You Think You Can Dance!

The judges for this episode were Adam Shankman, Mary Murphy, and Nigel Lithgoe. The Top 20 dancers were randomly paired together and drew a random dance style for their first performance.

The first couple to dance was Jeanine and Phillip. As anyone knows who has seen this show, Phillip is a fantastic popper. Jeanine has been rarely featured on the show until now. The couple was paired with Tabitha and Napolean. Well, I can say that I don’t see there is anything that Phillip does that I don’t like but I was sincerely surprised with Jeanine! She did so well keeping up with him and the two of them looked so wonderful together! I am really excited for this couple on this show!

The next couple was Asuka, a ballroom dancer, and Vitolio, a modern dancer. The two did a Broadway number with Tyce Diorio. I really love Asuka and her adorable personality but I thought the routine was a little flat. It seemed to be missed that extra “umph” that makes the routine good. While they both danced well, I feel that Vitolio didn’t live up to Asuka’s personality and personality. I’m a little nervous for them.

We were treated to a ballroom routine next, Cha Cha to be specific, with Karla and Jonathan. I think both of these dancers fell under the radar a bit so we don’t know much about them. For a Week One ballroom, routine, I thought they did a pretty good job. With neither of them being ballroom dancers, I think the mastered it pretty well. You could tell that they were a bit nervous, but I think they will be safe for this week.

The remaining Broadway Brother, Evan, was paired with Randi, a jazz dancer. The two were so lucky to get a jazz routine with Tyce Diorio because this is right in their comfort zone. However, the two were struggling with the emotional aspect of the piece because Randi is married. But I think the two will still be okay. They had just the right amount of sensuality to the piece without seeming over the top or too sexy.

Everyone’s cute and softie guy’s guy, Tony, was paired with ballet dancer Paris, who totally looks like Maggie Gyllenhaal (a major plus!). The two paired up with Tabitha and Napolean, who already wowed the crowd in the first routine. Paris was wonderful in this routine and the two worked so well together! It was really rough and hard but still clean. For some reason the judges didn’t like it but I did! Luckily, the girls like Tony and they will definitely be safe this week.

The next couple was Caitlin and Jason, both really beautiful contemporary dancers. The two got a bollywood routine. Thankfully, bollywood routines are always fun and they were dancing to Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire. The dance looked really great and they both looked beautiful.

Controversial contemporary dancer Brandon was paired with Salsa dancer Janette. They were given a Foxtrot routine from Dancing With the Stars pro, Louis Van Amstel. It was a typical Fred and Ginger routine. I agree with Lil C’s and Mia’s impressions on Brandon as I am still not a fan of him either. I get an air of cockiness from him where he knows he’s good and he always like “watch me, watch me.” The dance was pretty good, as much as I hate to give any praise to him right now.

Fourth-timer Ashley and Hawaiian god Kūpono danced a Wade Robson jazz routine next. I think every one of Wade’s routines in the past has been fantastic and I expect nothing less from this one. Once again, Wade outdid himself this time! The dance was so beautiful and strange and the dancers did so well with it.

Melissa, the “naughty ballerina,” was paired with Ade. The two got a contemporary routine with Mandy Moore. The dance was a beautiful interpretation of the beginning parts of love and how all you want to do is be with the other person and touch them. The routine got Adam crying and I was right there with him! It was something so beautiful to watch.

Last up was Kayla and Max, dancing a Louis Van Amstel samba routine. Naturally, the routine was full of hip action and fierceness. And I believe that they were the first couple on the Hot Tamale Train! They did a great job in the routine and it was certainly fun to watch. But for me, it wasn’t as good or as fun as Courtney and Gev’s routine from last season.

Ultimately, I think it was a good first episode! I think Asuka and Vitolio are definitely in danger of being sent home. As for the other two couples, I have no idea who they will be!

Speak Up Or Forever Lose Jillian...

Welcome back to Get Real! I am finally in the same week as the shows I’m writing about! Today’s feature is the scandalous new episode of The Bachelorette.

So let’s see how Jillian handles the news that some of the guys might have girlfriends…

The guys were told that there would be a solo date, a group date, and a two-on-one date. But that wasn’t the best part…they were then told that they were going to Vancouver, Jillian’s hometown, for a visit!

Jillian greeted the guys in Vancouver and showed them to their hotel. When she left them , she also left the first date card, which revealed that Kiptyn would be getting the solo date this week. Yay for the cute San Diego boy! I think this will be a good test to see if there is more than just a physical attraction with him. They had a fun kayaking and cooking date that I feel is actually a real date that Jillian would have outside of the show – no fancy, schmancy helicopters, concerts, etc., just a day at the store and doing outdoorsy things. They were very cute and couple-y the entire time which was super adorable. In the beginning, I just thought of Kiptyn as a hot surfer guy but on this date I got to see his softer side and I can really see Jillian being with him. He’s super cute and you can tell that they are both just totally into each other!

While the rest of the guys were waiting around in the hotel, the next date card came for David, Ed, Jake, Jesse, Juan, Michael, Reid, Robby, Tanner P., and Wes. That means that Mike and Mark are left for the dreaded two-on-one date and that one of them is definitely going home. The group date was a curling date. The guys were split into teams and the winning team would get to go on a dinner date with Jillian. The teams were Reid, Wes, Ed, Michael, and Tanner P on the Blue Team and Jake, David, Jesse, Robby, and Juan on the Red Team. And, after a power shot from Jesse, the Red Team were the winners! Poor Michael wanted to win so bad and was actually being really cute with Jillian, despite how annoying he is.

On their dinner date, Jillian had good conversations with Jake and Jesse. BUT then she had some alone time with David and she started to see his real side. I wish she could have just sent him home right away after that time because he was so inappropriate with her! It was really offensive, actually, and she said the same thing herself! Ugh, he’s majorly gross.

Finally, it was time for the two-on-one date with Mark and Mike. I am sincerely hoping that she gives Mike the rose because I barely even remember who Mark is! I was surprised he even got a rose last week. Right from the beginning, Mike was out to impress Jillian. He ran out to see her and then he sat in between them in the helicopter so it was more like Mark was the brother who was tagging along rather than someone who is dating Jillian. However, I think he was starting to lay it on a little thick and it looked like he was trying too hard. In the end, Jillian gave the rose to Mark. And while I was upset, by the end of the date, I thought that neither of them were right for her and no matter who she gave the rose to, neither of the guys would be staying much longer.

Then the remaining guys joined Jillian for a cocktail party. And this is when the claws came out. I swear, the guys are worse than the girls on The Bachelor! Reid started out with saying that some of the guys are not who they appear when they are not around her. The Tanner P. revealed in a confessional that Wes told him that he had a girlfriend back home (!). And then Jake and Tanner P. both hinted to Jillian that there are guys there for the wrong reasons.

Jillian then confronted all of the guys and told them that the cocktail party was over because of all the rumors going around. Naturally, some guys were pissed that their time with Jillian was taken away. And some guys were probably shocked because you know they were thinking that she could have been talking about them.

Before Jillian would start the rose ceremony, Chris and Jillian confronted all of the men again. And boy, was it awkward. Of course, none of the guys were willing to say anything. A lot of guys said that they wanted to know who it was and some of the guys wanted to know who was the snitch. I’m glad that both Chris and Jillian respected the integrity of those guys who mentioned things to her. So, the whole thing was left with no resolution and Jillian still needed to make a decision.

In the end, Jillian sent David and Juan home. At least she was able to see through both of them. Now she just needs to see the real side of Wes and we can be assured that the rest of the guys there are good! Poor Jillian, though. It doesn’t seem like next week is going to get much better. It seems like there is a lot more drama to come.

Reality TV Rewind...Part Deux

Welcome back to Get Real! We are finally at The Fashion Show and the Top 20 on So You Think You Can Dance!

Before the suspense of this summer’s Top 20, it’s time for The Fashion Show!

Once again, Reco was on his high horse and thinking that he was the best and that things should go his way. I sincerely hope that he messes up this week and goes home!

During the Harper’s Bazaar mini challenge, the designers were told that they needed to pay attention to detail. They were given a very intricate piece from one of Issac’s own lines and they needed to recall all of the details from memory and create a sketch of the dress – but not Isaac’s dress! They were supposed to sketch Kelly’s dress! Uh…I don’t even remember what she was wearing! Yet another reason why I couldn’t be a designer. I fail.

Johnny, Daniella, and Lidia were called out as the best representations of the dress. Daniella walked away with the win and I was just so glad that gross Johnny didn’t get it! So what was her win? She would get to place one of her other designer’s in the bottom three during decision time! What?! Ooh, we are gonna see Diva Daniella come out!

Then the designers made their way to New York Model Management. But the designers weren’t going to be designing for models. They were going to design for real women. Hmm, what a concept!

I was pretty disappointed with the way some of the designers reacted. It’s not even like they were completely heavy set – they still had good figures and sizes! And stupid James-Paul was freaking out like none other! I personally liked the challenge – they needed to hide the womens’ flaws while flaunting their assets. This is every girl’s dream to get a custom outfit to fit them perfectly! Thankfully, there were designers like Angel and Keith who embraced the challenge.

AND as expected, Daniella became a major drama queen and was complaining left and right about her model and the challenge. Here’s a hint: grow a pair and become a designer! Gheesh!

Joining the standard judges was Rebecca Weinberg, a stylist on Sex and the City. The two best designs were Reco and Daniella. I must admit that I liked Reco’s design, as much as I hate to say it. I’m surprised that Daniella was able to pull it off since she was having such a major breakdown earlier. Maybe she finally learned her lesson and will stop being a fashion-school snob! And she was lucky to be the winner of the challenge, marking her second win of the season so far.

Perhaps Daniella felt karma coming back to bite her in the butt as she had to choose a designer to be in the bottom three. She surprisingly chose Angel when I was sure she would have selected Merlin. Though, not surprisingly, Merlin made it in the bottom of his own accord. I have to wonder whether or not Angel would have been in the bottom without Daniella’s vote. The judges definitely didn’t like her dress but she was fabulous last week. Merlin’s dress was horrible but he could have done worse in Merlin’s standards. Rounding out the bottom three was Keith and his dress was incredibly uninspiring.

Keith was sent home and wonderful Angel was saved! Hooray. Now I don’t have to completely hate Daniella like I would have if Angel would have gone home. I am sad, though, that Keith went home since I think he could have been really good.

Now for the most anticipated moment of my summer thus far…the Top 20 of So You Think You Can Dance!

Though most of the episode was just the judges revealing the Top 20, there were definitely some surprises. First was Mia and Lil C proclaiming their dislike of Brandon up front even though he made it to the Top 20.

Most heart wrenching was seeing Alex Wong miss out on the Top 20 because he was under contract with a ballet company in Miami. I was so torn apart by this! He was clearly one of the best dancers, if not the best male dancer of the competition and for him not to be in the Top 20 is heart breaking. I just can’t believe it and I am slightly resentful of the artistic director of the Miami Ballet Company for not letting him out of his contract.

Equally sad was the splitting of the Broadway brothers. Evan, the younger of the brothers, prevailed and made it to the Top 20. It was hard to see Ryan go but I hope, hope, hope that he comes back next year because he is wonderful!

So, my most anticipated moment of reality TV this summer is complete!

Next up on Get Real, the latest episode of The Bachelorette! Stay tuned :)

Reality TV Rewind...Part One

Welcome back to Get Real! As I'm catching up with last week's episodes and working on this week's shows as well, it'll be a little bit of a rewind for those of you who may have watched already. So, please be patient with me!

Today we have the finale of Make Me A Supermodel and part one of last week’s episodes of So You Think You Can Dance!

First to go is the Make Me A Supermodel Finale!

As you may remember, the judges sent Mountaha home last week, leaving just the men: Sandhurst, Jonathan, and Branden.

My pre-show predictions are that it should come down to Branden and Jonathan. Sandhurst doesn’t have the ideal body and his face does not translate well in a photo. Jonathan is fantastic in both runway and photos, but sometimes he psyches himself out. Branden is über green but he has an incredible look and is quite modern looking. The sheer potential and raw talent of Jonathan and Branden will allow either of them to win.

The photo shoot was with a 20”x24” Polaroid portrait. They would each get three photos: a close-up portrait, a full body shot, and a group shot. The camera takes a full two minutes for the photo to develop. The models were told that there would be no photo challenge winner this week and that the judges would look at them to help decide the winner. All of the close-up portraits were just beautiful. I think even I could take a good picture with this camera and I am so not photogenic!

They guys were then woken up from a call from Corey Bautista from New York Model Management and they were told that they had a go-see with Cosmopolitan Magazine. This is a major deal for him since so many women read this magazine. The guys were there for a cover test. Jonathan was a little stiff, Branden did wonderfully, and Sandhurst eventually warmed up to the camera once he took his shirt off!

Then the models were invited to an open house art gallery showing. The surprise was that the invitation was for plus one, which means that each of the models had a family member or loved one come to visit them! Branden’s mom came and it was so cute to see how happy he was. Sandhurst freaked out when his sister came in. And then was the very sentimental moment when Jonathan’s wife and son came in. Such a cute baby!

All of the guys were surprised to see that the gallery showing was all of their own photos. Branden was like a kid in a candy store seeing all of his photos and his mentors.

Finally, it was time for the last ever runway. They each had to do two looks, one “fun” and one “fabulous.” The guys all looked great on the catwalk. I thought that Branden killed it! Jonathan was a little stiff on the first walk which did not look good. Sandhurst had a bit more personality this time around but he looked a little awkward to me.

The judges liked Jonathan’s walks and his portrait, but not his full length. And Catherine was very curious about whether or not he would actually be able to travel and fulfill all of his needs as a model. The judges loved Branden’s photos and the judges thought that he has a unique look to him. They praised Sandhurst on his portrait but said that his second walk was not up to par.

So who takes home the title of the next male supermodel and a one year contract with New York Model Management?

BRANDEN!! Yay! I never thought he would have won the competition but he improved so much throughout it all, there was no doubt in my mind during this last episode that he would win.

Now it’s onto So You Think You Can Dance!

First we catch all of the dancers at the Vegas callbacks! In total, 172 dancers made it to the Vegas round, but only 20 will make it to the actual show.

On the judging panel for Vegas week are the standards, Nigel and Mary, plus choreographers Mia Michaels, Lil C, Adam Shankman, and Debbie Allen. First, each dancer does a solo dance to prove why they actually belong in Vegas. The first dancer of the week was Alex Wong. Umm, this was probably one of the best solos I have ever seen! Can I just say that it is so exciting to see an Asian ballet dancer!

None of the dancers would receive criticism after their solos. The judges decided that some of the dancers were not as good as they once thought and 40+ dancers were sent home after their solos.

Now it was time for the first round of choreography: Hip-hop with Tabitha and Napolean. The dancers would all dance and would either be cut or move-on to the next round. Another 37 dancers were cut after Hip-Hop and the days would only get worse. The next choreography round was ballroom, a waltz more specifically. This is definitely out the comfort zone for a lot of dancers!

Cute little Japanese Nabuya, a locker, was great in the ballroom round! Yay for my Japanese people! Unfortunately for everyone else, not everyone was so charismatic and worked as hard as Nabuya as 16 more dancers were sent home.

Then Sonya worked her magic on the dancers in the jazz round and Sonya finally got to work with Natalie Reed, one of her favorite dancers in the competition. Unfortunately, Natalie didn’t perform in the final round and she was sent home. It sent shock waves throughout the other dancers who now realized that no one is safe.

The first to dance for her life was Gabi Rojas. She should be so thankful that she was given the opportunity to dance for her life because she is such a good dancer and was saved. I only wonder why they didn’t let Natalie dance for her life when they were pulling for her so much.

After the jazz round, only 73 dancers remained and they were faced with the group dance. I am very hesitant to see this as these dances can either be great or horrible! The first dance was clearly horrible and so, so, so unorganized. Even I could choreograph better than that! And that is clearly saying something. About mid-day, the groups started to get better and better ending with a really great and clever performance by “nerdology.”

Yet another test was a choreography round with Mia Michaels. I think any aspiring dancer both wants to dance with and fears Mia and her choreography. Lots of people struggled, as suspected, with the routine and few people were given second chances. The one pair of brothers and one pair of sisters both made it past Mia’s choreography.

For the first time ever, they are putting together an all guys and all girls routines with Tyce Diorio. Some favorites like Gabi Rojas and Megan Kinney didn’t make it past the final round. And Megan was left waiting to see if her sister would make it. And she made it to the top 16 girls and that stands between her and the Top 10 is a solo.

Then it was time for the guys’ routine. Guy favorites like Philip and the Broadway Brothers made it to the final 16 guys.

We were left with a teaser of the selection of the Top 20.

And so are you!

Up next on Get Real, the revealing of the Top 20 on So You Think You Can Dance and The Fashion Show. Stay tuned :)

She's A Little Bit Country...

Welcome back to Get Real! Up for today is The Bachelorette, so let’s get started!

This week, the guys were surprised with two individual dates and one group date. The first guy to get his individual date was Ed. And I gotta say that I’m excited for this! He’s been a little quiet up to this point but he’s really cute and seems a bit more grounded then some of these other faux-frat boys. Jillian and Ed went on a helicopter ride and this was the first helicopter ride Jillian had taken since being with Jason. But if Ed was surprised to receive the first solo date of the day, he was shocked by the next thing that Jillian had in store for him. She was having the two of them zip-line down a huge building in downtown LA. Wow, that was a pretty adventurous date. And Ed has now risen in the ranks and he’s definitely one of my favorites! And he got a rose! Yay!

While Ed and Jillian were finishing up their date, the next date card arrived. The card was for the group date and the guys are: Reid, Wes, Mike, Michael, Tanner F., Mark, Brad, Robbie, Tanner P., Kiptyn, and Juan. The guys were taken to a movie set of an Old Western movie. The guys were all the actors in the movie. All of the guys got to kiss Jillian in their scenes except for Mike and Michael who had to do a gay cowboy scene! Uh, really?! That seems a little weird. Robby and Jillian had a little moment together in their scene when they kissed. Jillian felt it was very real and it was certainly cute to see him as nervous as he was! Juan and Wes were up their usual ways. I really dislike both of them Wes more than Juan, but I still don’t like either of them.

Why is it that every time there is a date it seems like they end up in a pool or hot tub?! Naturally, Tanner P. went straight for Jillian’s feet. Gross! Then she had a little moment with Robby that was so cute! And luckily, he got the rose!

Then it was time for Sasha’s individual date. Jillian took Sasha to a car museum and they took some cute photos in the cars. Then they went for a drive in a Ferrari. Sasha revealed that he was in a horrible accident when he was 18 that should have left him paralyzed, if not dead. It seemed like they were having a great time on their date but she was worried about living up to his expectations. And although I loved Sasha and I wanted him to stay, I think that Jillian was right to send him home if she wasn’t feeling any future with him or having major hesitations. However, at the same time, I think having one date with someone is not enough to decide your future. Especially if it’s not a bad date! Oh well, that’s the problem with this show!

Back at home, Wes was singing his song for Jillian to the guys. Weird. Ugh, and then Wes came and serenaded Jillian at her window with his song. He said he finished the song for her and then asked if he could finish the song for her on her balcony. What is the most annoying about this is that Jillian does not see how stupid he is!

During his alone time with her at the cocktail party, David was actually beginning to open up to her. If I had never seen how he was outside of his interactions with Jillian, I could actually think he was a good guy. But then he got crazy about Juan breaking up his conversation and became typical David again. It’s a good indication how he would be with other guys around Jillian if they were actually in a relationship. Not someone you want to be in a relationship with!

But, at the same time, I do think Juan is stupid. Every opportunity he has to talk to Jillian he is constantly sucking up to her and saying the “right” things. I think it’s something that would get old quickly and I’m confident that Jillian will find it out soon enough.

So who went home? Jillian sent home Brad and Tanner F.

If The Shoe Fits

Welcome back to Get Real! Up for today is The Fashion Show and more city auditions for So You Think You Can Dance!

First, a little update: I know I am extremely behind so just bear with me! This week has been nonstop but I will do my best to catch up and get back on schedule!

Now onto the real reason for all of this – the shows! First up is The Fashion Show!

The designers jumped right in to the Harper’s Bazaar challenge and the secret ingredient is…shoes! The designers needed to make a pattern for Olsen House shoes, which designs eco-friendly and vegan shoes. Reco went for a short boot, Keith was thinking of gardens, Johnny wanted to make a wedge and Merlin did his traditional mini leprechaun style. Reco and Daniella conspired with each other about Andrew’s skills.

Team Reco was the winner and I was totally expecting Anna to win…again! What is happening here? She is clearly the best person there and she keeps narrowly missing the win. AND gross Johnny was the winner. Eww.

Then the designers went on a field trip to Bergdorf Goodman. I was way jealous!! Just looking at those beautiful shoes made me wish I was not so clumsy and could wear heels all the time. The designers had to choose a pair of shoes that would be the inspiration for their entire outfit. Angel didn’t pick out a pair, so she was given a pair of gorgeous Stella McCartneys.

And perhaps the biggest surprise of the night…the designers would now be working as individuals!

Reco, oh, Reco. I will not let him live down his stripper designer past. And why should I when he chooses some YSL boots that are like a chain-linked fence. Maybe they will be suitable for Pamela Anderson in Barbed Wire. Eww times two. Plus, I am not happy with his major ego.

I am completely rooting for Angel but I don’t understand why she can never seem to finish her garments. It’s frustrating when she clearly has good ideas and can’t see them through.

The guest judge for this week was George Malkemus, president for Manolo Blahnik USA. The judges raved over the runway and loved that the designers expressed their own styles. The three best looks were Angel, Daniella, and Reco.

I still hate Reco and his design, but I can see that his design is fashion forward. It’s something Lady GaGa would wear and if she wore it I would like it. I like Daniella’s dress and I can see that her design style is a little dark and rock. And I am so happy that Angel was in the top because I love her dress! I think she should have won but instead it was stupid Reco. For the third time, eww.

Now for the bottom two. Lidia’s overambitious design played her no favors and Andrew’s inability to design for himself showed here. Ultimately, the Pantiechrist went home.

Now, onto So You Think You Can Dance!
Joining Mary and Nigel in LA was Adam Shankman, director of the Hairspray remake. Bianca Revels, last year’s tap sensation who just barely missed out on the Top 20 came back to LA to prove that she still has what it takes. She was sent straight to Vegas and I am thinking that her journey on last season was proof enough that she didn’t need to go to the choreography round.

Next was a brother-sister pair that was just too couply for me. They were constantly holding hands and were way too comfortable with each other. Ugh, awkward!

Asuka Kondoh and Ricky Sun were back again as the unique Asian pair in International ballroom. They are super cute and I love seeing some Asians out there! Some other great modern dancers and a “naughty” ballerina also made it straight to Vegas along with Asuka and Ricky.

The last dancer on Day One in LA was a young guy named Nathan Trasoras. Ok, I know nothing about dancing but he was just beautiful! I almost wanted to cry while watching him. The only bad side? He’s only 17 so he ineligible for this season. Ahh! I sincerely hope he comes back next season.

A cute young redhead (faux) named Sammy was next and he was fantastic! I don’t understand how people doing isolation or popping, especially this guy! He was so so good! He was moved to the choreography round and all the judges, including myself, were hoping that he would be good enough to make it to Vegas. So, did he do well enough?? Yes! Hooray!

The auditions then moved to Seattle and the third judge on the panel was the fantastic Mia Michaels. Ok, I am just going to make a prediction right now that Seattle is not going to be a good audition city. From a rude b-boy to the couple who mixed argentine tango, swing, and international tango, it sure is starting out bad!

Finally, someone good! Kelsea Taylor came out and was like the younger sister of Mark from last season! She totally belongs in any piece choreographed by Sonya! She was so quirky and strange and lovely! She was sent to choreography and I hope she does well! And, thankfully, she did!

It seems like things are looking up for the Seattle auditions after Kelsea, which is good for both the judges and for me! There was a great Hawaiian guy whose name is way too complicated to even try to pronounce! Lots of people along with the Hawaiian guy were sent to choreography but no one has yet be sent straight to Vegas.

I won’t even comment on the Leo vs. Sex battle. If you are interested, you can google it yourself.

Next up on Get Real, the next episode of The Bachelorette. Stay tuned :)
