it's time to "wave" buh-bye

The terrible twos is certainly meant for babies but who knew it also applied to designers on Project Runway?!

The designers gathered on the beach for their newest challenge. They needed to create a surfwear look that was both fun and fashionable. And they would be getting some help from Garnier on their models’ hairstyles.

And here is when Tim throws a wrench into the mix…they would be working in teams of two! The teams broke down as follows: Shirin and Carol Hannah, Logan and Christopher, Nicolas and Gordana, Mitchell and Ra’mon, Althea and Louise, Qristyl and Epperson, and Johnny and Irina.

Lame, Mitchell said he chose Ra’mon because he wanted someone to carry him in this challenge. So stupid. You shouldn’t need someone to carry you on this show, you should be able to carry yourself and know what you need to do!

The designers got a chance to talk to some surfer girls to get an idea on their design ideas. But they only had a $50 budget and 15 minutes to shop! Crazy!!

Oh, and now Tim threw in the kitchen sink, as well! Each team would need to create a second look! Some of these teams can’t even work together well enough to make one look! And the second design needed to be an avant garde look that corresponds to their surfwear look. They would get another $200 at mood for fabric, which will certainly be needed.

Qristyl and Epperson are not getting along AT ALL and it’s just so horribly awkward to watch. Other bad news came when Tim told Carol Hannah that Erica wouldn’t be there during the fitting so she chose a new model, Valerie, who was eliminated last week.

Rachel Bilson served as this week’s guest judge and Max Azria filled in for Michael Kors. The top two teams were Johnny & Irina and…wait for it…Ra’mon & MITCHELL!! Oh my gosh! I totally thought that Shirin & Carol Hannah would have been in the top. The judges were not impressed by Mitchell’s lack of designing in this challenge since he did NOTHING! The bottom two teams were Qristyl & Epperson and Nicolas & Gordana. Although Nicolas & Gordana were in the bottom, the judges seemed to understand their mistakes and the team as a whole stood up for each other.

Wow, these results are shocking! The winner this week was Ra’mon! But Mitchell was not dismissed along with him from the runway. Never in the history of Project Runway has a designer from the winning team been eliminated. But there’s always a first, and Mitchell was out.
